Matthew 10

Matthew 10, Jesus calls, empowers, and sends out the Apostles.  As I read the instructions to the Apostles, it seems like the charge to spread the good news still applies to me today also.  The Teacher was up front about the challenges that the road ahead would hold for them, they still went.

One thing I read as the first time was Jesus charge to “Go nowhere among the Gentiles.”  They were to only go to the Jews.  I don’t ever remember considering this directive.

Verse 19 states “When they hand you over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say; for what you are to say will be given to you at that time for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.”  Have you ever had an experience where it seemed that the Spirit was talking through you?  There have been instances where I have looked back and wondered because it seems that the words that came out of my mouth were timelier and better presented than normally comes out.

Have a great day,
Doug.
