Matthew 12

Matthew 12, Jesus starts the chapter by proclaiming himself as “Lord of the Sabbath,” which is the same as proclaiming his definitive nature.  It appears that the Law keeping had become paramount to the spirit of the Law.  In addition, it appears that they had added to the Law by making their own “rules” or traditions which they had made to be the Law.  Is this still happening today?  Sure, try moving the mid-week assembly to Thursday!

One of my life changing verses is in this chapter v. 34 …For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.  (NRSV)  I used to worry about how to approach someone and talk about the “Good News.”  Application of this verse has shown me that my job is to fill my heart up with Christ and I don’t have to look for chances to talk about him, I can’t help from bringing it up.  I urge you to meditate and apply this verse to your daily walk.

Have a great day,
