John 3

John 3, the chapter starts with John the Baptist and his foretelling of Jesus whom he is preparing the way for.  John really lets the people have it over their actions and he instructs even the tax collectors and soldiers how they should start acting.  Apparently, the tax collectors and soldiers were using their positions to their personal gain.  The chapter ends with the genealogy of Jesus.

The one thing that I read as new in the last verse of this chapter was that the linage of Jesus is from Adam through his son Seth.  It makes sense since Able is dead and Cain has been banished.  I had just don’t remember reading or considering this.  I am also reminded that the descendents of Abraham’s sons are still fighting today.

Have a great day,

Doug.
