John 10

John 10, Jesus continues in this chapter his with his argument to the Jews that he is the Messiah, the Son of God.  Jesus tells and then explains the parable of the sheep pen with Jesus being the Shepard and the door to the pen.  Jesus states that 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. (NIV)

Generally we are not good listeners.  It seems that the skill of listening, especially to divine guidance in our lives, is a skill that you have to work at to be effective in.  As I have tried to learn to listen more to the Saviors voice, I find that a lot of the time I am hearing the voice of my own desires.  Also, along this journey I have to accept that every action does not have a visible cause and effect.  Some mysteries will only be reveled in the spiritual realm.  Ro 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. (NAS95)

The chapter ends with the Jews once again trying to kill and/or arrest Jesus.  He escaped from them across the Jordan where many came to him and believed in him there.

Have a great day,

Doug.
